Fitbit or Argus?

Does the fitbit app work without a fitbit. I do have a fitbit and the app works very well with the fitbit. Does argus require hardware? If not that may be your best pick.

I believe both the fitbit app and the argus app can be used with the 5s m7 processor.

I use Fitbit in conjunction with Nike+ Move and Run Keeper.

Fitbit is great on a 5S because you don't need a Fitbit device and it does 99% of what a Flex does, only missing out on sleep tracking. The One and The Force let you track your altitude/stair climbs. Also love the ecosystem of Fitbit because I can join groups and track my friends from the website!
 
I've been using a fitbit for about a year and a half. I think it's really great, it's done a lot for my motivation. I think the app is great as well on both iOS and Android.
