Hi everyone,

I have my focuses set up so when I start a workout then the fitness focus should automatically come on (and off when finished!) However, for some reason about once a week it keeps turning itself off? To re-enable it I have to go in to the focus on my iPhone and reactivate it. Picture below of the state it keeps going to:

Loads of posts about this already. Just have to wait to see if Apple can be bothered to fix it

Hint: don't hold your breath, this is Apple, they are

Do you know I looked and couldn't find a thing! must just be looking in the wrong places but hopefully it will be fixed!

And I thought it was just me. Tried deleting the focus and recreating it. Same issue especially if you restart your iPhone in between. Very annoying when a notification pops up in the middle of a workout.

I was getting this every couple days. I use a treadmill at our community gym and I only take my watch with me for the workout function and to play music to my AirPods. I started getting notification dings on my AirPods for the first time. Checked that Fitness focus setting to see the auto start toggle was off. It gets mirrored to my watch so I was getting the notifications when I shouldn’t have. This seems to be a random issue as it hasn’t occurred in 3 or 4 days, but I haven’t re-started either device since then either so who knows what will happen when I do.

I am having the same issues. I just reported it to apple. Hopefully they will fix it with 16.3

I doubt 16.3 will fix it. I get crazy when it happens because I always forget to check it before my workouts.

Doesn't look like 16.3 fixes it. Updated mine the other day, just checked now and the focus was disabled. Add this to the ever-increasing list of bugs that Apple are seemingly incapable of or not particularly interested in fixing.

And the POS feedback app still says no other reports of this issue #WhatIsThePoint

It seems that iOS 16.3 fixed this issue for me.
Good to hear! Mine seems to reset to off about every 3 or 4 days, sometimes longer. I haven’t remembered to check after I’ve restarted my phone to see if that’s what causes it. I’d like to not have to remember to check at all.

Well, just checked, that auto option for Fitness is still enabled, but focus isn't activated. I ran this morning without phone, focus not changed. Then I walked to my office a and focus still doesn't activate, but I double checked that auto option is enabled.
Now it even worse then ever.

Ok, I have new observation toady. When I have set "Personal" focus, Fitness focus doesn't switch automatically, when I start workout. If I don't have any focus set, Fitness focus set normally.
Very weird bug I think.

Well, another observation. I found, that when I set my focus mode manually, Fitness trigger works fine. But when I have some automation for focus, then Fitness focus not switching.

16.3 fixed this for me. I haven’t had to reset the auto fitness focus in quite a while now. Very pleased!

Asi I wrote before. It's "partly" fixed. Option not disabling itself, but If you set other focus mode (for example Personal) by shortcut and then go for run or walk, focus mode will not change to Fitness.
When you set Personal focus manually, Fitness mode will activate during workout just fine.

It's not fixed even in 16.3.1 and 9.3.1.
