Do any of these have any sort of anti-spam or block list? Or rules like on Macmail?

I know there are some privacy concerns with Spark, but honestly I haven't looked back since I switched to it almost two years ago. It's just too good.

I use AltaMail Go sometimes because I need to see the full header info, particularly when I'm traveling and I don't have access to my Mac.

Within the full header, I can see the originating IP address and for Junk Mails I can add the IP address to my email server's blacklist.

I would welcome suggestions for any other email application capable of showing the full header information.

Dear Macrumor, we have been waiting expecting a response from the review team as to why you did not mention Outlook.
Because Micro$oft is bad, don't you know?

It's pathetic that they haven't included Outlook in this list. The consensus from this thread looks to be that Outlook is the best mail app. I think so as well. There is literally no reason to not include it in this app unless they specifically set out not to include it. In which case they should have labelled it, like a previous commenter said, "Five of the Best Email Apps on iOS that aren't Outlook, which is the best"

Another vote for Outlook - it's superb

Tutanota ofc. Email app/provider that blows them all away for obvious reasons even if a few features are still coming.

Honestly, if the built in mail app just had the option to return to the inbox after deleting an e-mail rather than moving to the next e-mail I'd say it's my favorite, lol.

I do agree though; no mention of Outlook? I use it for my work e-mail and frankly, it's better than any of these.

This whole thing looks very elementary compared to AquaMail and BlueMail for the Android phones.

Do any of these apps 'read' our emails to provide functionality?

The review should include any privacy aspects that a potential user should be aware of.

I used to love edison mail before they admitted they let their employees read peoples emails.

I always thought it was common knowledge “they” all do that in one form or another no?

lmao privacy ? In this day in age on the internets ? Yeah right that doesn’t exist

I switched back to the stock email client for the ability to quickly store away a draft at the bottom of the screen. Much quicker than having to save a draft and going back and forth.
I wish Outlook would implement this function.

Which of those mail clients does send your credentials to 3rd party servers to probe mail servers because the devs are not able to implement a proper mail setup routine in the actual client?

I would appreciate if somone got information on that.
At least Outlook is known to run everything over Microsoft/Amazon AWS Servers.

Hint: If it features Push Mail it's certainly is using 3rd parts servers, as push isn't possible on iOS for 3rd party clients without server side support that pulls the mails and sends then a notification using Apple Push Notifications.

Every year we got this new best email apps and here I am still using the stock mail app. I did try different mail apps like they said it's the best and new one but I keep going back to the stock one.

I do like Edison but for some reason I keep getting duplicate emails, after a minute or so it corrects but it is irritating

Airmail now stinks. I used it for years, but the devs never fixed recurring bugs or updated the UI, and I got tired of waiting for a refresh. The devs now are working on new apps and likely not giving Airmail the attention it needs.

Really? I list got Aquamail for my Pixel 3XL. I am just getting acquainted with it this morning and find myself missing Samsung mail and Apple's native email app (due to their familiarity mostly). What are your favorite features on Aquamail?

Me, too, for iOS. It looks clean and works well.

I went back to just using Mail.app after Newton. After that, I’m a bit burnt out on using a third party company that has to filter through everything - it just isn’t sustainable for them unless they are harvesting/selling user data. Most of these are likely VC funded for now, till they run out of money and have to find a business model.

That plus the fact that any one of these could be bought up by a FAANG company and either have its terms modified, or just get shut down.

Basically I am looking for a local mail client (Meaning the app connects to exchange/smtp) to grab mail, and doesn’t cache things on their own server. Then let me pay a subscription to create mail reminders/snoozes through their server (Who doesn’t need to see the actual email, just metadata about it.)

Actually TBH I think the main thing I want is for apple to add the share sheet to Mail.app - I can’t believe they haven’t added this in 12 iOS versions, especially after adding Shortcuts. If I could get a “link” to an email in Mail.app I could create my own reminders setup through Things.

The best email app is ProtonMail.

Modern day email is the equivalent of a secret diary it has everything about you stored in one place. Tired of every service out there monitoring your life and selling it to others. Data collection should be illegal.
