I tried jailbreaking my phone but returned it to stock. I restored from backup and one thing I noticed is all the stock wallpapers were black and I could not use any of them.

I fixed this by rebuilding the photo database as described here: http://obtained.wordpress.com/2011/02/25/rebuild-photo-library/

Hope this helps anyone who also had this problem.

Yeah, it was my first time trying a jailbreak for a long while.

It seems that jailbreaking moves the wallpapers to the /var/stash folder and the location for the wallpapers is stored in the same database as your photos. Restoring from a backup of a jailbroken phone leaves that path in the database and since it no longer exists on a stock iOS filesystem, the wallpapers show up black and are unusable.

Rebuilding the database restores the default locations inside the database file.

I don't see how this could work. How are you getting root access and SSHing into the phone? I tried getting to the path on my dad's phone (not jailbroken) and could not find it in iExplorer. I can get to the path on my iPhone (6.1.2 Jailbroken) and did not see the files that were to be deleted.

    ----------

Do custom wallpapers work (ie: your own pictures)? If so you could just download the picture and set it as your wallpaper.

It happened to me, and I could never get it fixed, so I ended up downloading the stock wallpapers again and put them in a folder
