So i turned on iCloud Music Library looking forward to downloading some tracks off Apple Music but they screwed with all the artwork on my iOS devices! Thankfully they didn't seem to mess with my Mac's library.
To fix the artwork on my iOS device I selected a problem album in iTunes, viewed info, dragged the album artwork to the desktop, deleted the artwork from iTunes, dragged it back in from the desktop, clicked ok, then chose file > Library > Update etc.
Sometimes it updated on the iOS device within 30 seconds, other times i had to close the app. Either way it worked and, although tedious, my library is beginning to look beautiful again.
