Fix for iOS Autocorrect Bug Reportedly Arrived in Latest Developer Beta, Coming to Public Beta This Week

I didn't really follow iOS10 last year but is it just me or has iOS11 been abnormally buggy?

To some degree it can be said that there might be some more issues, but it's hard to say given then iOS 10 (as well as 9, 8, etc.) had a host of their own issues and many complaints as well.

Hinder many users? You mean people actually use that predictive bar? I turned that off so fast I find no use. Typing or having Siri type for me is far easier.

This is actually more related to autocorrect than the predictive feature.

I have seen buggy iOS releases before, however iOS 11 takes the cake.

Nice. But this just got me thinking as I tried to use it again today:
I assume Apple's version of “copy and paste,” as far as using it on webpages go, will remain broken in perpetuity as they clearly have no desire to fix it. Ever.

Clearly it works as they intend it to. <sigh>

My original iPhone was super smooth....sleek....slick at this selection and copy/paste stuff.

Not anymore it seems.

I can also confirm this in macOS Sierra 10.12.6 when the text is coming from an iOS 11.1 device. Those on 11.0.X aren't showing the weird symbol.

I have ios 11.1 and can not make this occur on my X.

EDIT: never mind, I have auto correct turned off.

It's not just you. I've experienced many bugs, and I'm not a beta tester. The most annoying is the bug mentioned in this thread and the app crashes.

I had it where "on" would change to o[n]. I Googled and searched and thought it was only me. I reset the dictionary and it stopped it.

I should hope a fix is coming real soon -- this is a very visible and embarrassing bug. Been seeing tweets and posts all over social media that are plagued with it.

11.2 beta already...hope they fix the calculator.

The calculator has already been fixed in 11.2 betas.

None were. Until literally an hour ago. Now I have it. iPhone X 11.1

It seems like it's still useful even without that information. Not that that information would be interesting to know, but seems like without Apple releasing that information, or someone digging into it and figuring out what it is, we might not really know.

I wonder why I never saw this--mind you, I am using Google's Gboard as my main keyboard for my iPhone 6 (Gboard's prediction of words used is better than Apple's own keyboard).

anyone else feel this bug was sort of contagious? my friend had it and started texting me then it started happening to me also. might just be a chance occurance

Yes! I’m still on 11.0.1 on an iPhone 7 Plus and just waited for a fix to this issue after reading about all the bugs. My friend was fine and then texted me with the autocorrect error. That same night it started affect me! I’m still iOS 11.0.1 and it’s really only affected me via chrome and social media

I'm getting this too. It's weird that it shows up as I in my phone, but as "A (weird box)" on my Mac. Also, the first post on Reddit right now shows up funky on my computer, but not my phone.
