This is a smack my forehead moment. The way iPadOS 26 stacked up pages is very annoying. The under-pages do not consistently stack the way I try to set them. What happens is there is some part of one of the under-ages is hanging out. So when you try to close the page on top, instead you swap for one of the under-pages. You can have multiple pages hanging out this way. It is really crappy in dark mode. I was on my mini PC with windows 11. I got a pop up asking me if I wanted to open a new page and minimize the current page to the taskbar as it’s default mode. This caused me to check the iPad. It has a similar option.
