I have been messing around with the site and its new design a bit recently, and I found something odd. There are three buttons at the bottom (Fixed, Fluid, and Fluid HD) so I proceeded to click on them. Fixed took me to the main page, but in the old design. I then figured this was a way to revert to the old design. However, when I try and go anywhere else on the site after clicking Fixed, it brings me into the new layout again. Is this intended functionality, or am I missing something?

Fixed/Fluid/Fluid HD options only deal with the news side of the site and specify how the site reacts to different browser window widths. As the name suggests, fixed is a fixed width that fills the left and right with blank space if needed. Fluid will auto adjust the layout depending on your browser width to fill the window, with limits if you start to go really wide. Fluid HD removes those limits and pretty much lets you go as wide as you want with your window.

These options have no effect on the forums, which are currently responsive and will automatically adjust to your browser width, similar to what Fluid HD does on the news side except that you can go even narrower and it will responsively convert to a mobile-optimized layout as you get narrower.

it's supposed to work on forums.... it just doesn't on Safari for some reason.
