Itunes just came out with an update on Tuesday but it did not mention anything about FLAC. I hope that is the case though.

I just tried. iTunes 12.7 does not accept FLAC files.

seems weird to allow it on the iPhone but not support it in iTunes.

I find it odd that they announce it as official but you could do it regardless. The only thing you can't do is play it from iTunes. You need an app like Onkyo HF Players.

Native support of FLAC in iTunes would be a great news for me as well! I've been using the format for the last 5 years and had to convert either to AAC or ALAC every single track I imported in iTunes. FLAC support would be such a relief.

I don't use iTunes anymore because of this, except to backup my devices. I use the Vox app for music on my phone, which allows playback of FLAC. I'd love it if iTunes accepted FLAC.
