Hi,

I am currently running on the latest macOS Catalina, however noticed that I'm not able to add FLAC files to Apple Music (iTunes) then add album art. Is there an easy way to do this? any recommended apps? Thanks in advance

Also, what would be a good way to be able to play in Apple Music app, iPod, iPhone etc?

thanks, XLD works ALAC is mp4 format right?

XLD is a great tool.

ALAC is basically Apple's version of FLAC. The format is ALAC. The container however is .m4a which is also what containerises Apple mp4 and aac, but it is not encoded with the MPEG standards. It is an ALAC format.

Another vote for XLD to create ALAC files.

I been using this format ever since Apple created it as it was compatible with iPods, long before the iPhone was released in 2007. The files can still be used in iTunes/Apple Music and iOS/iPadOS devices.

ALAC files are pretty portable and widely compatible with other platforms. I playback ALAC files with Kodi occasionally on a cheap Wintel box hooked up to my A/V receiver and TV.
