If Hubble can see light years away shouldn't it in theory be able to focus close enough to see the moon.

When you look at a star at night with the naked eye you are seeing something that is lightyears away. Several hundred lightyears in some cases.

It's just as easy to fake a "fake" image as it is to fake a real one, I've read the same info you have mainly because my wife thinks its all a hoax and Goooooogled the moonshots to find the sites.

If you go to the NASA archives and take a look at the 1000's of genuine photos all with correct shadows and perspectives, and look at the 100's of hours of film and video and the tons of equipment then you'll either believe it or you tell me that it was all faked and is continuing to be faked.

If its a hoax then the money they used perpetrating it could well have landed man on the moon.

My last post on this btw, not out of disrespect someguy, but because I doubt either of us can convince the other.

As far as the moon rocks, Apollo 11's lead scientist could've easily collected those during his trip to Antarctica about 2 years earlier - "moon rocks" can be found fairly easily in Antarctica as well as many other parts of the world. On top of that, it has already known that over 90% of the moon rocks we have collected were not collected by hand, but by machine.

how about reading the wikipedia link i provided:

"However, the first Antarctic meteorite discovery was made in 1969 by a Japanese team. The first United States led team began searches in the mid to late 1970s and the first meteorite identified as a lunar meteorite was not found until 1981 and identified as such by its similarity with the lunar samples returned by Apollo which in turn are similar to the few grams of material returned from the Moon by Soviet sample return missions (see ANSMET). The total collection of identified Antarctic lunar meteorites presently in the collection at JSC amounts to only about 2.5 kilograms, less than 1% of the 381 kilograms of moonrocks and soil returned by Apollo."

and to think that a rocket scientist/engineer is a specialist in moon geology is kinda funny

On top of all that, many of you are image/video editors - just look at some of the videos and images. There are shadows where none should be and in vice versa (which is more common), sudden changes in the light source's direction, very odd movements by the astronauts themselves - many that could only be possible by either sudden changes in gravity levels or if they were merely dangling from a support cable similar to how they do in training videos at NASA (reflections from these cables can even be spotted in several videos).

read the wikipedia link and perhaps that one too:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html

if it was faked why did the NASA recorded video where the soviet Luna 15 probe is visible fit exactly to the (at that time secret) flight route of the probe not only in coordinates but also in timing..
it's not a matter of believing.. think about it.. if it were really hoaxed it would be the biggest story of the century perhaps .. you know it actually was easier to fly there than to pull up such a huge fake operation...

This is one of those topics where either side will probably never agree with the other, but after looking at all the facts, it just seems so fake to me.

I HOPE that we really went, because such a hoax is not only pathetic, but extremely disgraceful to this country, but my money's on the hoax.

Hopefully one day, when asked about it, someone in authority who knows the truth will choose to show undeniable proof to the world that it really happened rather than flee the scene and we can only pray that whoever was doing the asking doesn't die of some natural cause shortly after. :p

Gee, and I thought that Mac-users where smarter than the general public.

OK, here's a good site that answers most questions you'll ever have concerning the moon 'hoax'

http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html

The two sides of the debate are not equal- there is a tonne of evidence that the moon landings are real- and absolutely no evidence that they were faked.

(Edit: Thanks Takao- I see you've already linked to this site. Everyone else check it out)
