I had the exact same problem with my 3G S, I recorded the problem but they do not accept video proof 🙁 I guess you'll just have to continue bringing it to the Genius Bar until they can witness the problem 😱

My home button is hit and miss as well. Really annoying when trying to multitask. If I had an Apple Store anywhere near me, I would've taken it in a long time ago. Oh, well, I am one of those suckers who buys a new iPhone every year, so I won't have to deal with it for too much longer. 🙂

I can add that I had an iPhone 4 replaced for the Home Button issue.

And recording a video of the issue works as proof for the Genius Bar. I had a problem where my wife's iPhone would freeze and stop responding after calls and I did a quick video with my iPhone and sure enough they replaced the phone no questions asked.

No more issues since the replacement. I mean I was 99% sure it was a hardware issue, but the genius kept insisting it was software. If it weren't a long as hell drive, I'd go back there and see if he's there and thank him for giving me the benefit of the doubt.
