Sick of the Flappy Bird stories.

Seriously. First, a story on how it will be removed. Then a story on how it was removed. Then a story about how it wasn't nintendo. Now this one. PLEASE NO MORE, if we care about the Fappy birds aftermath, we'll google it or go to a game/app blog.

what a psycho. seems to have a split personality.

I hope he gives away all the money he makes with ads to some rehab facility :p

For many Western audiences, his move must be totally incomprehensible. After all, earning over $50k a day is most people's ultimate goal isn't it? Great to see that different attitudes to success still exist - at least, by the looks of it.

I am not sure why you have singled out Western audiences. There are plenty of Eastern people who are motivated by money.

I like this guy! The problem is that, whenever another one of these 'Flappy Bird' stories appears, I get the urge to play the game... too bad I downloaded it before it was pulled.

So basically, if my friends want flappy bird, I could could download it on their device for $5 dollars a pop.

It makes me sad to read that many people don't understand his move and criticise him for revoking a product that he no longer wants to be available to the public for moral or personal reasons.

Money isn't everything for all people. It's a good move by him I'd say.

Careful, a specific head doctor here might make you explain yourself...

But yes, the guy isn't right in the head.

Says the people with money...

I challenge all those to give me their money as proof it isn't everything. #

It was addictive but people who downloaded it would have got bored of it within a week like with most hits of this nature. It's not a game we would have been addicted to for any long period of time.

He could have left it in the App Store and only new people would have been addicted and then not for long.

Can't these articles just be updated? I feel like there should be a tab above titled "beating dead horses" and all of the articles that could have just afforded to be updated could be placed under there. :D

This game, this developer, and the press that it is getting has now reached a new level of absurdity.

How did "addictive" as the main reason take so long to come out? Still weird...

Tired of these as headline stories...

Gary

It can take awhile to explain what's wrong. You have a sick sense that you're doing something wrong and it takes a few days of reflection to realize why it's wrong.

Anyways, I find this a bit absurd. I can't imagine many people are addicted to Flappy Birds - I'd think the number is in the single digits. Couldn't he instead take the proceeds and use them to help addicts recover from other addictions? I feel like he took too many of the mock reviews for Flappy Birds too seriously.

Sick of the Flappy Bird stories.

No kidding. Never heard of the game and suddenly I see 3 4 Flappy Bird stories in 4 days over and over again stating "go away" while we continue to shout "HEY EVERYBODY! LOOK AT THIS GUY, HE DOESN'T WANT ATTENTION!!!"

It's a really weird clash of culture.

I disagree. I think this is some lame stunt that he pulled and the press he is getting from it is likely still generating income. As I understand it, he has developed other games that we can still download. I do not believe this is a commendable action on his part that anyone should applaud. I restate what I've written previously, no developer sits down, develops a game/app, releases it and hopes it doesn't make a dime. No developer ever.

I'd use the adjective "Frustrating"... Well, I have a super highscore of 4 so maybe I am just not graceful in defeat... :p

lots of reviews like this in the App Store...

Ha! I got to 5, and was determined to get 10. Then read it is easier 2x on an iPad. Tried that. Got a whopping 3!!!!

Deleted it from both devices. Not sure it ever synced to my Mac. Oh well.

The degree of traditional culture that someone adheres to will always have individual variance (especially if they've lived in more than one country), however you can guess how much Western acculturation a person is likely to have using other factors. For example, Japan is known to be far more consumerism-friendly than a country like Vietnam, who just within the last week is apparently opening their first McDonalds (yuck!).

From this we can gauge the level of other attributes, such as the importance of humility that a person will likely display.

Well, I think you are naive, for starters, if he didn't want attention, then, why is he giving an interview to Forbes.

If he didn't want money, he should have said, from the day the app was pulled, all the earning from the adds, should go to charity.

If money is not what he wants, then, he should have also pulled the other two apps he has in number 6 and 18 in the app store, they are not as hyped, but believe me, they are making a lot of money.

I think, in the end, attention is what this guy wanted.

And shame on MacRumors for tweeting about this guy and Flappy Birds every day.

Or...

If you DON'T CARE about Flappy Birds you can just SKIP THE STORY. Exactly how hard would that be?

In other words, nobody really cares how bored YOU are.
