I never understood the fuss about this game. I loaded it, played it a few times and then thought it was unnecessarily difficult and not much fun.

I still keep the icon of the original on my phone. Goofy bit of nostalgia, I suppose.

Why did the original developer choose to remove the game when it was a huge success? As far as I remember he was making a huge profit - why stop that? I know he didn't care about the attention, but what about the money - and why didn't he just sell it so others could run it on. I have so many questions! 😅

People: why did the original dev remove it and give up, he was making lots of money, that’s all that matters, surely?

Also people: I hope it doesn’t now come with micro-transactions or subscriptions, there is more to life than money, what about value, fun, etc?

I believe he said he didn't like how addicted people were getting and the fame. Seems like he was happy enough with the money he made and didn't want even more.

Still doesn't make sense and not a great excuse IMO. If there was nothing more to this story, it was a dumb decision. Donate the money if you don't need it, do things to encourage players to take breaks, ignore press inquires, etc. There's plenty of other routes he could have gone instead of just dropping it.

Are they going to put ads in the game?

I use Mullvad DNS blocker. It’s free and get rid of ads in apps.

The website has a Telegram channel. Thank you, but no.

The creator has also never sold the rights either, so whatever this knock off is, it's not the real deal.
Apparently he did sell the trademark some years ago.

EDIT - According to another article, Gametech Holdings LLC filed for the trademark and a court ruled it abandoned.

Well, it’s about time!

Curious what they have done to make the game less dangerously addictive (but presumably, still fun?)

The creator of flappy bird gave up millions of dollars because he didn't like the fame. It is insane but I guess some people aren't motivated by money, or success.

Removing it in the first place was the dumbest decision made that year for any developer.

He saw the dark, negative effect it was having on people and put his morals over potential profit.

If more individuals and companies acted that way, perhaps the world would be a better place?

Also why the hell is it needing to be released in 2025? Didn't the creator make this game in a single weekend?

Why are there pipes in the sky?

Flappy is flying near the ground, through some sort of industrial facility with a lot of pipes. Perhaps a chemical factory or gas/oil refinery. It may be derelict or undergoing maintenance, given that many of the pipes are disconnected.

Perhaps more of the background story will be revealed in this new update!

So a whole new generation can get obsessed with if for three days... then delete it.
