The thing that gets me about this is the fact that it's not addictive, compelling yes but not addictive.

All in all they ultimately turn out to be the same thing, but the reasons for why you want to do them are fundamentally different.

Addicting = Chemical Re-wiring of the brain to make you want it (E.g. Nicotine)

Compelling = Something being compelling and you yourself wanting to do it (E.g. Playing an oddly fun game)

I think its too late for the developer, there's too many clones. He had a flash in the pan app that was great and he foolishly pulled it from the app store. I don't think the return will generate the high level of revenue he was getting previously.

I'll remember to tell hardcore compelled gamblers that one.

Wow, this guy is so fake. Doesn't want to make addictive games.... boy how he cares for the children of the world. I tried one of the clones and deleted it in 5 minutes. How people went crazy for this crap, I'll never know.

I never understood the popularity of this game. Have any of these folks ever played Tiny Wings. Now that's a great, addictive game.

man this guy is even dumber than i first thought when he pulled off the first app because of all the "media pressure"

If he puts a new app out there, with minor changes, will people be forced to buy it again? Or, would it be considered an update? Could this be just a ruse to make even more money? The app certainly has become a household name in iOS gaming since he decided to pull it.
Pretty sure we are dealing with a free app.

Why will anyone even download it, they all still have it from the first time round, and they don't play it anymore, make something new, **** lazy developers...

I sincerely hope your sentiment is unique... but then you've been up voted already. Perhaps the world is lucky and your cynicism is unique to the internets...

If I am to believe the write-up, then I commend the developer. He appears to be a man of integrity. It is a pleasure to see a potential role model emerge in an era where overt criticism and self-centeredness seem to prevail.

You are making vast misassumptions about the human brain. For example, to the brain, everything exists in a neuro-chemical pathway. This includes behavior.

Yes habits can change your brain. Even flappy bird, albeit more "compelling" pastimes probably have a larger degree of impact on your brain chemistry.

Pretty Obvious...

"Less Addictive" is code for "In App Purchases"

Users can play for a number of times before having to wait for more turns... or for $0.99 they can buy a pack of 10 turns!
