hey it is working pretty well over here so far, although i have only viewed a few youtube vids, got the little white square in the corner telling me its working and acording to istat my CPU usage is nice and low. I am using a MBP (in sig) and have the 9400m enabled...i will enable the 9600m just to see what happens, although it is not listed as supported.

all in all though, finally, good show :)

I haven't tried on my MBP yet but on my 2 hackintoshes this update has been great. My workstation which has a GTX260 no longer has issues with flash when it is playing something in the background. My server with a 8400GS and a single core 2.7Ghz Sempron can play Hulu HD video now.

Tested on MAC MINI

FINALLY !!!

I tested this on a new Mac mini with 4 gigs of Ram. I used 1080p from Youtube (Top Gear Transfagarasan 1080p). I noticed a drop - 105% to 71% for flash itself and Use:eek:r went from 60% to 34%.

Not too bad but not as good as Windoze 7 on crappy $600 Lenovo (see my previous rant) But I can't use this on my laptop at all as I'm using Leopard not SL.

No joy here - I've got a new MBP 13", just migrated all my stuff over from my old Macbook (x3100), installed the gala flash beta, but I get no white box on any videos at any resolution (tried the various ones suggested here).

Repaired permissions, but no change. Anything else I should try?

I wonder if when I migrated all my stuff (via time machine) something important got overwritten?

If using Chrome you need to disable the built-in Flash plugin first by going to chrome://plugins/

Right, but that's because

1) The Windoze version was better optimized to begin with (pre-10.1).

2) When the Windows version was beefed up with hardware acceleration in 10.1, it wasn't just for video but also for vector graphics and bitmaps (see Adobe's tech blogs where they mention this).

So now that the Mac version has hardware accelerated video, it still performs as before when it comes to other Flash content like vector graphics. So the only 10.1 improvements that the Mac version benefits from are HW acceleration for video content, plus the reduced RAM footprint. This makes the Mac version of 10.1 a helluvalot better than the previous one, but since the Windows version got many more improvements, the performance gap has widened.
