    Hi,
I'm working on a flash video that has started exhibiting strange audio and video problems.

I deployed it on a bunch of sites about a year ago and it worked fine. All of a sudden on all the sites the audio has started glitching out and occasionally the video, too. I can only assume this was caused by an update to flash, though I can't be certain. It's a really simple flash video player that loads and external .swf file and plays it. I have no idea what to do at this point. I've tried other players, tried reformatting the video. Nothing seems to fix it.

You can watch the video at: http://mma4millions.com/video.php
(The website hasn't officially launched yet so there are other problems as well, but just pay attention to the video)

It plays fine on the flash player that comes with the flash cs3 app, but not once loaded to a server through a browser. I was send the video in .swf format and I'd like to try and convert it to h.264 and try that, but I can't seem to find a converter, also.

    Thanks!
    -Zach

I can't help with your audio issues, but I can definitely solve your converter problem. In flash just export as a quicktime movie, and adjust the settings to H.264

    ask for the original

if you were sent the video as a swf, the original must exist somewhere. i would see if whoever sent you the swf has the original video and then encode it yourself as a flv with the flash video encoder that comes with cs3, or as h.264 with any number of conversion tools out there.

also, when loading an external swf it will take on the framerate of the swf that it gets loaded into. when loading external video though such as an flv or h.264 encoded file the video will play at its own framerate even if the video player that loads it has a framerate of 1fps. this could easily be the cause of your issue with the video and audio getting screwed up since it is possible that the swf file that contains the video and audio is being forced to drop frames to match the video players frame rate.
