Basically, I have a flash drive that shows up on windows, but not on mac. It is formatted FAT32. I can't format it on mac (Disk Utility gets stuck at unmounting disk). Any advice? I need these files on my mac ASAP!

If you need the files ASAP, maybe try Dropbox or a direct network connection, if you have problems with the USB flash memory thumb drive.
Or format the USB flash memory thumb drive again via Windows > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management or right clicking in Windows Explorer on the USB flash memory thumb drive and choosing Format and then either try FAT32 again or even NTFS.

I tried formatting under windows and it didn't work. And yes, I uploaded the files to dropbox to get them for now. But, I need to take them to school(file sharing services are not allowed there)
