Hey all,
I want to install windows 10 in flash drive or SSD using my new Mac book air 13 (with Touch ID). But my boot camp software is not allowing that. Every time it is saying that remove your external drive. Please suggest how can I install windows 10 in flash drive or how can I use windows 10 in my Mac book air without installing in my inbuilt SSD which is 128 GB.

Is there any way to increase my storage capacity in my MAC BOOK AIR 13?

Bootcamp doesn't allow installation on an external drive. There are instructions on the web on how to install Windows on an external drive.

This is just one example, if you search "macos boot camp external disk" you can find other sites with instructions. Most, if not all of these use VirtualBox to enable using Bootcamp on an external disk, which is Virtual Machine software. I have not used any of these instructions.

I would not suggest using Bootcamp on a flash drive. Response time would be too slow, in my opinion. A HDD would probably work better.

You can get a bigger-capacity SSD for your MBA. You can buy a used Apple SSD or something like the following:

(The OWC Aura Pro X2 is a fairly new product - I haven't looked at the reviews yet. Their 2 previous attempts at doing this weren't very good IMO.)

Or you can buy standard PCIe NVMe SSD and use an adapter. There is a big thread on the MacBook Pro forum. There is a good summary at the start of this thread.
