will any of these features be implemented in the iphone eventually... Is the iPhone capable of these features? I wish the phone had these things!

[Mod note: One thread is enough!]

Maybe. :p

Picture Messaging could be put into the current iPhone with a software update. Not sure if they will or why it wasn't in to begin with.
The other two of course need a new hardware upgrade, I think that GPS will be added at some point and that Flash will not be. Apple has not added it to anything else.

Has not added it to anything else? The only product flash isn't in was the former iPod line and the HiFi... not surprisingly. And why should it require hardware?

why would flash need a hardware update, is the processor too slow? and also don't all phones have to have GPS of some sort built in for emergencies to be able to find the caller if they dial 911, so it would seem like software could be written to give acess to the GPS by the user.

The iPhone doesn't have the GPS chip, from what I hear. As for flash, I misinterpreted it as flash memory for some reason, not adobe flash. Flash could be a software update, but not sure if they will do it. Apple may want to try to push there own multimedia software on the iPhone, but we will see.

Oh, and the "find 911" thing can basically be done using the towers, for basic routing.

If they push their own 'multimedia software', they're going to ahve to get a lot more people using it than iPhone users. There's no reason to use the already-proven Adobe Flash standard.

And as for the GPS thing, I don't see Apple going for it on this rev. One could use tower triangluation to find their location, but I'm sure it's not accurate at all, and wouldn't work well enough to integrate into an Apple product. And what happens when you're only using one tower?

The tower thing is only for 911 to route you to the right call center. It would not be able to be used for direction or the like, that would need a chip and satellite integration (i.e. antenna).

Yes but apple should make it easy to do, in the way they usually do for things. Its not something I do, but I think it is something that should be in the iPhone.

1 away from 400 posts, yay! only 101 away from 500 and I get a chip name. :D

What about when someone sends you a picture message though?
You gotta log in thru AT&T's crappy site and most of the time when you punch in the 18 digit userid and password it doesnt even go thru :(
Go thru hell to get something that should be alot simpler....

Not my Experience.

Dude, that's not true. Whenever i get picture mail, it's sent to my Gmail Account on my Iphone. I think ATT sends picture mail(MMS) to the primary mail account on your phone. try it.

edit: just email yourself a picture from your computer to your iphone and see what happens.

HOW DO U LOOK AT MMS ON THE ATT SITE?

I dont get it, all your MMS messages go to your email account? How do you do that?
Every time someone sends me an MMS message I get this text message that says the following:
I send you a multimedia message.
You can view my message via the internet at
www.viewmymessage.com
Using Msg ID eoimwlkf39i
Password dil93tip

I have my Verizon.net pop3 email account setup on my iphone but regural emails only go thru there and not my MMS messages.

I love my iPhone and everything about it. GPS would be nice but im working around it but the whole no picture messaging thing is a joke.

Every pos phone does and somebody is like "let me send you a picture" and im like ohh "my $600, super hyped phone does not do picture messaging"

At that point, people dont care that it does all this other amazing things, they just see it lacing such a basic function
