Hi,

I have a card reader that I use in the PCMCIA slot of my 15" Ti-Book. I basically have used it to insert SD cards from my digital camera to transfer photos to iPhoto. I was thinking of using a Flash Memory card/key disk to back up information. Does anyone know if I use a SD memory card in the reader, and leave it in the Mac, will the heat of the Powerbook damage the card. The Mac is on pretty much from 5am to 9pm daily. My wife uses a Key Disk type in her ThinkPad, and leaves it in constantly. Hers is on the same amount of time as my Mac. The Key Disk functions well being plugged into the USB port of the notebook.
Also, is data from her PC, such as .doc's and .xls's transferable to the Mac via the Key Disk. I would think since we both are using Excel and Word, one for mac, and one for PC, that the files should be transferable?????

Any thoughts. Thanks.

Frank
