So, I've been using Safari 4 all day, and realized that while watching youtube videos and other videos on the internet, the fan speed didn't increase a lot like before.

Were the flash problems with Safari resolved in this version ?

Holy crap! You know, when you mention it...
I've heard that the reason the fan speed increased (On Intel GMA 950) was because of the hardware, something with the GMA 950 which made the computer warm causing the fan to go, but now it don't. I use a MacBook 2,1, I don't know what you use but... Yeah.

I can't answer the question though, would be interesting to know.

The fan speed increase is due to Flash using a lot of CPU.

Well, I got a macbook with the Intel X3100, and when watching videos on youtube the fan speed increased, and CPU use was high. But for some reason, the CPU is still high, but the fan speed doesn't increase that much.

The newer processor probably generates less heat I would imagine. Newer versions of the same architecture tend to be more energy (and therefor heat) efficient.
