That's my guess! I don't have any inside info or anything... but this has gone relatively unmentioned.

What do you think? Wouldn't it be a nice surprise?

two years without flash, didn't needed it then, not sure if I need it now.

it would be nice to be able to use Hulu on my phone, but its not a big deal if I cant.

For those confused, I meant Adobe.

There's plenty of web content that still uses it today. Plenty of websites use it, including sports sites.

I fully expect a very smart implementation of it from Apple/Adobe as well.

I would love for flash to arrive on the iPhone, but sadly I can't see it happening. No one with beta software running on their iPhone has hinted anything, no YouTube videos suggesting it may be around the corner, just nothing unfortunately...

Stranger things have happened. Would be good news if it did. It wasn't completely ruled out at the last keynote.

My suspicion is that if it is coming it'll be new handset specific though - it'll need that much grunt to run.

As far as I can tell the best you can get on any phone is the Flash Lite.
Flash is a pretty poor technology. It's even worse for mobile.
If Adobe fixed it, so that primitives could be rendered in hardware, it could become something that mobile devices could use.

Personally with the exception of video sites - I hope flash never comes to the Pre, iPhone. Designing websites in flash is terribly inefficient nowadays for both performance and accessibility. Sites designed with jQuery and CSS offer better performance, flexibility, and compatibility.

two years without universal search, didn't need it then, not sure if I need it now.

you could say that about any feature the iphone is missing, and then no progress would be made and it wouldn't get better if johnny rainclouds like you had your way.

I thought Roscoe's faithful basset hound was long since dead?

It is great to see that flash is still alive if true!

adobe is working on flash 10 for all smartphones (except the iphone)

but supposedly apple is working with adobe to incorporate flash into their devices as well...we can hope!

currently on other devices..you can use skyfire browser to see web pages like you would see them on your desktop pc....with flash and everything. it renders the pages very fast too...

adobe wants to work on flash for the iphone but need apples go ahead or something like that

Well Jobs said no Adobe Flash because it was slow. But the new iPhone will probably have a faster processor so maybe it's possible to implement without a performance hit.

I don't blame Apple for not pushing Adobe along on this. Even on Macs, Flash uses far more CPU time than it really should. I guess optimisation isn't a priority for Adobe.
