Flashed HD4890 (2.5 GT/s vs 5.0 GT/s)

My flashed HD4870 is working only in PCI Express 1.1 mode.

If I flash HD4890 will it work in PCI Express 2.0 mode ?

no. still irrellevant. that card is not bottlenecked by 2.5GT/s.

Windows 7 reports it as:

5.0... don't know why the mac side doesn't like it and refuses to run at 5.0.

Thanks Cindori. BTW - I've just bought XFX HD4890 1GB to replace my HIS HD4870 - so keep fingers crossed 😉

I had no issues with my current one and I think there will be no issues with that one.
