Hi Folks,
Long story short: I bricked a HD4870 with flashing the wrong Rom File. The Mac now boots no more, the boot chime is cut and the Mac (1.1) is into a boot loop. No chance to re-flash it, even with a second GPU.

So I got me a cheap PC to flash it back to the saved rom file. But the PCIe Power Cables do not fit in the box. I use on Board Video of the PC and all what I get from an ATIFLASH -i is that it founds no Card. Is it due to the missing PCIe Power ? Is the Power Supply Of the Slot enough for just flashing it ?

Tia and cheers

Just to double check I got you right... You tried to access the card with atiflash and it found no adapter ?

No, but the card need both cables plugged in to function correctly. And I don't think it's a good idea to flash the card if it doesn't boot properly. Your aim is to safe the card, but not further kill it, right?

Yes, I don't want to use the card in this PC, I just want to unbrick the card by flashing the right rom. I need to use the PC because the Mac do not boot with the bricked card in, even if not in use and with a working card in another slot.

You may check the Netkas forum, there may be some method to short the pins and recover the card (make it flashable again).
