hi,

just reinstalled osX on a previous model mac mini via firewire from a current model mac mini. Has a new HD in the old mac...

Install appeared to go ok - it did it and said all finished at the end! But old mac still won't boot - now sitting flashing a folder at me. I suppose that means it can't find either the os, or the hd?

any suggestions?

thanks
tony

That indicates that it can't find the OS... Often it can be a sign the the hard drive may be bad. 🙁

If, even after reinstalling, it isn't able to boot, you'll probably need a replacement.

try booting off the os dvd and select the hdd

if it cant see the hdd, the hdd is dead

happened to me and it sucks
