Flashlight app scam?

Hi Guys,
Hope i'm in the right area,
Wife informed me that a flashlight app carrying malware and affects smart phones and iPads, (was on Facebook today)

I thought this the case with any bought app but is the flashlight app/option that came with the iPhone 5s OK?

I tried google but can only find old info from 2 years ago,

Should this app that came with the 5s be deleted or is it OK?

There really isn't any malware out for iOS.

As for flashlight, technically as of iOS 7 that functionality is available right from iOS itself without any app needed.

Don't believe anything posted on Facebook most is untrue or very old. Check out http://www.snopes.com to verify rumors.

If the app shipped with iOS then it should be safe. Also, apps that ship with iOS are locked to the device and cannot be deleted from a stock device.
