Does the Apple Watcher have a flashlight ? Guessing no but wanted to make sure.

It would be great if so. That way I can tell it to blink as well whenever getting a notification from a app.

Yes, the Apple Watch has in effect a "flashlight": the whole screen goes bright white. Quite useful actually.

I have not used it as a notification alert, so cannot confirm that it will blink. In any case, you can get the haptic vibration alert.

I have the haptic vibration alert enabled.

Still miss notifications sometimes or do not notice them :(

Btw, if you don’t know, you can get to flashlight by pulling up from bottom on your clock screen to get the control center.

Same here, even though I vibration on “prominent”…most of the time it works. It is a little annoying when it doesn’t.

The watches flashlight feature is very good (and bright). I only wish you could get it to default to one mode.
Every time I action the flashlight it brings up either RED or FLASHING WHITE, when all I really wanted was CONSTANT WHITE.
You then have to go through a hectic swipe action hoping you get the mode you desire before it locks in the flashlight mode.

Mine always defaults to white, and I use it quite frequently.

Apple does not (yet?) offer/allow that functionality on Apple Watch. The Flashlight feature provides a torch-type function with two additional different modes, flashing/strobing white or steady/static red, if using the light as a visibility device/tool (e.g., running activity/workout).

I only wish you could get it to default to one mode.

It should be defaulting to the static/steady white. Have you tried troubleshooting (e.g. restarting the watch)?

I can’t find any verification in the Apple Developer documentation. Although, from vague recollection, it seems as some apps have silent notification (i.e., the visual notification appears, but there’s no sound/vibration). I accept the behavior could be a glitch at times. However — again, vague recollection — recall it being consistent with some apps.

Nevertheless, not recognizing everything is a human limitation (i.e., being focused).

Nevermind, I guess you do have to swipe between the modes. Tapping the screen switches between dim and bright for each mode.

I love the flashlight feature. It’s not something I use all the time but when I do, it’s really handy.

Love it. Used to check out inside of the mailbox at on the way to work. It is an excellent feature.

A turn of the wrist, turning the watch away from you, also brightens the display. It's a nice feature to avoid blinding you in a dark room while selecting the flashlight mode. Rotating the wrist so that the watch faces back to you dims it again.

So far I have found;
1. If I restart the watch it defaults to RED.
2. If I select WHITE, then use it….. Then later if I then reselect flashlight it remains on WHITE.
3. However, if I take the watch off for recharge then reinsert the passcode it defaults back to RED.

so, for me it defaults back to RED when either restarted or having to log back in.

The only way that I know of to make the light default to red is to enable Theater Mode. You don't happen to keep that mode enabled, do you?

Really good tip, I didn't know that! Thanks!

I also absolutely love this feature. Helps a lot when I come back home by foot as allay I walk from bus stop does not have lanterns often and no pavement. Having it on left hand when walking directly to from where cars go is little confusing for them but “safety is number one priority”.

Also when you are fixing something in a dark place… One day whilst parked I noticed on the floor near the rear of my car a metal screw nut which I immediately identified as being the type attached to the exhaust system. However, being on a campsite away from home I didn’t have my inspection torch.
No problem… I parked the car in a hollow, slid underneath, switched on the watch flashlight and after 5 minutes chasing back along the exhaust I found the bracket the nut had sprung loose from.
Fixed….. Thank you Apple Watch. 👍
