Hi, has the method of changing icons in Yosemite changed from Mavericks? I've tried the copy paste method on displaying the get info menu, but I'm left with a icon that simply says the apps name. 😕

Try dragging the new icon file over the icon in the info menu, or use LiteIcon

If you're using an .icns file, make sure to open it in preview, view thumbnails, and CMD+C the largest thumbnail, then click + (CMD+V ) the icon of the application you want to change in the Get Info window.

If you're just copying and pasting the ICNS file, you'll get a little paper icon

I saw someone made a minecraft one, but I didn't like the way it looked, I was hoping for something closer to the original logo but round and flat, so I requested that one as well

Thanks to everyone for the good work provided. It's awesome really...
But I'm a bit disapointed because I can't find that much DAW and music app icons !
So I'll make a request...

Can someone please create both rounded and square flat icons version of these software ? (according to the sizes in this great .psd I found http://martiancraft.com/downloads/20140703_yosemite_Grid-PSD.zip)

ICNS format would be super !

Calendar has it's icons in several places.

Find Calendar in the Applications folder. Right-click it and choose Show Package Contents. Open the Contents folder, and then the Resources folder. Here you find the two icons called App-empty.icns and App.icns. Copy them to somewhere as backup or rename them. Copy the replacement icons App-empty.icns and App.icns into this Resources folder, choose to Replace the current icons, and authenticate your action. Now go in the Resources folder to a folder called Calendar.docktileplugin and open it. Choose the Contents folder and then the Resources folder. Copy the App-empty.icns into this location also, replacing the older icon. Finally, open Terminal and type in killall Dock to restart the Dock. The new icon should be applied!

I have no experience with Battle.net and Transmission. Dropbox restores it's icon each time it starts, so you must go there also to the Contents folder and then the Resources folder in the program package of Dropbox. In the Maverics version you must replace the box.icns icon and in the Yosemite version it is icon.icns that needs to be replaced. Problem is that Dropbox frequently upgrades itself and then the old icon is restored.

Hey

I would love if anybody was able to make a Yosemite-styled Maple icon. I don't like the round with white borders, so if you are able to make one without that, that would be great.

This is the current icon, I don't think the "18" is needed on the logo. Thanks in advance.

Another I did.

I've came across this topic and I have to say I love it. Thanks Humex for creating this topic and keep posting and thanks to Arn0 for your awesome work and dedication.

I just got completely amazed by this icon. It's impressive how you made it that similar to the original one but at the same time so much better.

I know you've been asked a lot, but I wanted to know if you could provide one but in green. I know I know, it's not round like everyone else likes them but I guess I like variety in my dock..

Anyway, thank you everyone for creating and maintaining this amazing post 😀
