Was at the Genius Bar. Never have needed to do a repair outside of AppleCare but just had the battery in my MBP Retina replaced. I thought pricing whether local or depot was always the same but surprisingly, the local store was what less expensive,where Depot was $400+ more for the same repair.
As the tech was submitting the repair, he was like I think Depot is going to be cheaper but ~I don’t know due the new changes~ per his word and interestingly enough, it turned out to be just the opposite.
I sorta remember it was the opposite - Depot repairs were less expensive than having out repaired in the store.
