Met Crime Map
Keep zooming in to get more detailed data, obviously should be used as a rough guide as I'm not sure how specific crimes influence the results or if it is just a matter of frequency. Interesting nonetheless.

Sounds like you'll get what you want out of it then.

I think the biggest adjustment, if you can believe it, is in the grocery stores. There's just stuff missing and the familiar things often come in unfamiliar packaging, and the prices are incredible. Then having the cashiers sitting down and having to pack the food yourself. It's just a bit bizarre.

It's also strange to get used to the idea of not needing a car to get from place to place and having to share your personal space with so many strangers. The tube really quite scared me at first.

I certainly hope it will be enjoyable if it all falls into place.

I can see the grocery thing being an adjustment, bagging my own groceries, weird. I can imagine the prices, I'll never forget my first $6 bottle of Coke. The car I can understand too, especially from SoCal where you drive everywhere. I had pretty decent experiences on the Tube the few days I was there, maybe I missed some of the busier rush hour lines. Met some nice people on the Tube when I was there.

Geese, Hank-B, Topher15, and 00hkelly thanks for the links, I will definitely be checking those out.

Thanks again for all the info! I really appreciate it, hopefully I'll be across the pond soon; just got to continue to focus on the grades and GMAT now.

Any other tips anyone has are greatly appreciated!

Pretty much no matter where you are in London it's still easy to get in/around/out. I live in Barnet, which is at the end of the Northern line. It's half an hour to get to central London on the tube, but I work near Milton Keynes so any further in would be a nightmare.

Being here does also mean that I have some greenery nearby as well.

Go anywhere on the tube. But like most people have said, south of the river isn't quite so nice.
