OMG.

On the flip side, what would you do if in a freak industrial accident you had all your fingers cut off and you could no longer access your phone?

Then you will use the secondary security measure you will be required to setup to unlock your phone. The fingerprint scanner will not be the only access method. Biometrics always require another method in case of failure. If Apple doesn't do it, then it would be a huge failure on their part.

I can see people waiting for a friend to fall asleep and doing this so they can post rouge comments on their facebooks.

Surly you can pick which ever finger you want, Keep your unlock finger secret or use a toe that would throw them off a bit. Might be a market for finger print unlock fingers that you can keep locked away in a box.

now that I think about it here is a flaw... NSA ha

apple says it is not stored on their servers or your icloud.. pff bs

NSA will jump on this to gather everyone finger prints..

It could happen...

get someone to pick up your thumbs and unlock the phone before calling 911. MUST UNLOCK PHONE FIRST

The only real flaw to the fingerprint scanner is the now non-ability to use waterproof cases with the phone. Other than that, you're talking silly.
