    Hi,
i'm going to get a new macbook pro in the next days,
i already know everything about the flickering problem
of the macbooks, i buyed one and i discovered it just in time
to bring it back, and wait for these new PRO machines.
Now i've been on the apple discussions board and
there are already people saying they have a flicker screen
on their brand new LED mbp santa rosa.
    So what's happening?
I still have to risk buying a faulty machine?

Buy it. If you're not happy with the product then take it back.

As stated, if it's faulty, return it. As for my 9 month old Macbook, if it flickers, I give it a little whack on the back (behind the word Macbook) and it stops. :D

that sounds like a bad idea. might be a slightly unbalanced fan or something - might be worth having it looked at.

most likely something with the inverter. that was the source of my flickering problem. where the panel makes the connection to the motherboard, it can be flaky on some models of laptops.
