Turning off wifi will save you a good amount of power.

Turning on airplane mode turns off wifi, bluetooth and cell, and will save you TONS of power.

if you have flightmode on, pretty much the only thing id imagine you could use is the iPod.

But yeah, everything you turn off about the phone, EDGE, WiFi, etc, should in theory increase battery life.

The only time i put on airplane mode is when on an airplane (what its for) and when i charge my phone, since i dont turn it off.

To save battery power i just turn the WiFi off and put the screen brightness all the way down.

Really helps the battery life.
