My boss want to pick up a flip cam to use here at work for basically documenting events, no serious video production or anything. I was checking out the website and is it just or do the Ultra HD and the Mino HD have the same tech specs, just one is more compact? He wants a 2 hour model, any one have a suggestion as to what one to buy? The site isn't that helpful.

Cisco is phasing out the Flip brand. So, if service and support isn't an issue, then continue to look at the Flip cameras. You should be able to find some good refurb or close-out deals.

I've been using the Kodak zi8/zi10. Its Kodak's answer to the Flip. It shoots in both 720 and 1080p, and has sensible features such as user replaceable batteries, SDHC card slot, and external microphone jack.

The user replacement battery means if you have extra batteries you don't end up with a dead camera when you needed the most.
