Download here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...4D-D747-4180-A400-5F06B1B5E559&displaylang=en

Direct download link: http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-8EA8-8744E42594AA/WM Components 2.3.1.2.dmg

Double click the downloaded file "WM Components 2.3.1.2.dmg" to mount that Disk Image (dmg) if it does not automatically mount itself.

Select the mounted disk image in the Finder's Sidebar, select "Flip4Mac WMV.mpkg", double click it and follow the on-screen instructions.

After the installation is finished, you should be able to at least play WMV media in QT Player, but you can play WMV media in VLC Player too.

Also have a look at the following links, as the information presented there might be helpful in your future endeavours into Mac OS X and could clear up initial confusion and may even prevent harm to your system or your files.

In addition to the information above, make sure you've got the default setting for .wmv files set to Flip4Mac. Select any .wmv file on your computer, press cmd i, and change the 'Open with' setting to 'WMV Player'.

To play the .wmv file, just double click it and it'll open in a Quicktime window.
