Flipping sims question

I ordered an iPhone X on my AT&T number which would have arrived in early December. This morning my local Apple Store had pick up for that phone today. I ordered the phone for pickup on my wife's phone number also AT&T as my line was tied to my later order. After activation can I just flip the sims between my iPhone 7 and the new X? Thanks
 
Swap SIMs before you turn on the phone for the first time (Voodoo but why not just to keep everything clean). The SIM will relay the IMEI data to ATT automatically. You'll be fine.
