I'm going to be flying with a stick of uninstalled RAM. I bought it for my friend, and am going to install it for him when I get to my destination.

My question is where should I pack it? Will it be damaged if it goes through the XRAY machine that caary-on baggage goes through? Or should I pack it in checked luggage, although that get's XRAY'ed also.

Anyone do this before?

Thanks

Static bag. Definately need a static bag. FI they question you, say "Yes, it's a piece of RAM for a computer, please don't xray it without the bag, and please handle it carefully and do not let static electricity to hit it.

Anyone know if it better to pack the uninstalled RAM stick in my checked luggage, or should I put it in my laptop case and carry it on (an lrt it go thru the xray machine that all carryon luggage goes thru)?
