Nice idea. I want to have a work mode which allows notifications from teams/slack etc. Honestly most apps should be fine but I can disable some spammy ones. and for home it’ll be mostly ‘everything’ except teams/slack turned off.

But when I go to set up a focus, it suggests a handful of apps and people then I have to add extras one by one. Surely there is a way to ‘add all’ and then I can go and deselect a few? I have hundreds of contacts and probably more than a hundred apps, I don’t want to do that one by one - and then repeat that for each profile

for contacts, you can just allow Call for everyone and allow the message app. This is the same as "allow everyone".

For apps, unfortunately there is no other way than select them one by one at the moment

Suggest giving Apple feedback on this. It is a glaring miss, in my estimation. Applefeedback://
(You have to use that url as the Feedback app is removed from the RC)

wow surprising ommision. You’d think for most people the inverse (allow all and selectively blacklist) would be the preferred option - or at least a very common one

Just curious can you have a not allowed list option? Or do I have to add ever single contact to be allowed. Only a few work contacts I don’t want notifications at certain times text/phone calls but I currently use DND and is super annoying as it blocks notifications from everyone

that's what we just said above. You don't have a "not allowed" list.

This is the exact reason I do not use focus modes.
