I’d be very surprised if the fold is called the “iPhone ultra” as that implies it is the flagship with zero compromises. How can that be if the 18 pro max has a better camera, battery life and Face ID for example. Perhaps it could be called “iPhone Fold” or “IPhone Ultra Fold”? (See below)
More interesting to me is what happens in 2027? Very likely there will be a Fold 2 - but if there is a true blockbuster anniversary iPhone XX - that would be the real flagship. That could be called iPhone Ultra and be the device that fan bois and the affluent will buy in 2027
So in essence - it feels to me that the Fold will only have a hype period of 1 year - before just becoming another option in the wider iPhone lineup
