I have a couple of clients that always want me to e-mail pictures to the local newspaper whenever I shoot a virtual tour for them. Sometimes I forget Tonight I decided to look at Folder Actions to see if I could remind myself whenever I drop something new into their listing folder. Of course, it works just as I had hoped (see attachment). OS X is the best
I used Folder Actions more than a year ago to sort my iChat chat logs into folders by person (I believe MR's own HexMonkey wrote it for me). I'm still sort of amazed at how seamlessly it interfaced into OS X, and how ingeniously it works. Just another example of how Apple caters to both professional/geek types while keeping it simple enough for mom and pop.
