Quite new to OS X.

I changed some of my (blank) folder icons to some system ones (iTunes, Notes, etc.) However, upon rebooting, they reset to blank ones again.

What I did was "get info" for both of them, then simply copy and paste the icon at the top left over.

Anyone knows what I am doing wrong?

Where are these folders? In your user account, or elsewhere?
What disk are they on? What format is the disk?

These folders are on my desktop, which is in its default location (/Users/<me>/Desktop).

Default disk (Macintosh HD) and format (Mac OS Extended Journaled).
