I was wondering if I can get a folder to show a notification like apples mail does for the number of items in the folder. Basically then I know if the folder is empty or not at a glance as I will have things waiting to be converted/finished etc.

Not exactly like apple mail notifications but you can select Show View Options (cmd-J) and then tick the Show item info checkbox. This will make the finder show how many items each folder contains.

Suppose it'll do for now, but I mean to give you more info it is for folders in my downloads "stack" so that option only works if I open it in finder not not by fanning open the stack.

I just want to quickly glance and know I haven't go work building up lol. I like saving time, I'm lazy
