Problem: Every now and then - I really didn't figure out any direct cause yet - my downloads folder changes its viewing options (file sizes appear, sorting changes from date to name).

I know this is not an emergency, no kernel panics involved, but can somebody help me, please? It's bugging me for 3 years now. Maybe there's some pro out there who can tell me which hidden file to delete.

Thank you in advance!

Sorry for bringing this up again, but nobody knows a way to do is?

Would appreciate any answer!

Have you tried the obvious?
With your Downloads folder open, right-click on an empty space and select "Show view Options", set things up as you'd like them and then at the bottom choose "Use as default".
This works for me, YMMV!

I already set the current option as default, so the "use as default"-button was greyed out, but I didn't think of changing it back and forth yet. If it does solve the issue, I will post again. Thanks for the reply!
