Can someone please advise how to put folders in descending date order (I am using the format e.g. 2008_12_25, and want to show latest dated folder at the top of the finder window) ?

This is only achievable in list view. Switch to list view if you're not already there, then click twice on the Date column. The first click sorts by date ascending, the second will switch it to descending.

If I am understanding you right you have named the folders in that fashion, correct? If so, then doing as Mal suggested but doing it on the "name" column will work, as doing it on the "date" column will sort them by date modified, not by the date sequencing you have used for the names.

Yes, using names of folders

Many thanks. You're correct. I named the files, so the date sequencing will rank them differently. Sorting by "name option" works, but how do I make this work as a default setting so that it shows up in the name viewing option in that way?
