So long, and thanks for all the fish!
WOW, since folding.exteremoverclocking.com had been down I hadn't been following our stats, but today, the first day it's back up, we've folded 12,000 points by 3:00!!

Have we been slowly getting higher, or what??
 
All I can say is, damn that's a crazy spike from when they were down and then cashing in all the points at once. That'll skew our graph for a while, but it definitely looks like we're on a nice production increase. :)
 
Its truly weird - but we're also out producing the knights :D

Maybe if we catch up we'll have to go do a little taunting!

I should have a Dual G5 up this weekend. When is Big Mac going to join MacRumors?

Would that be a good idea after the last time we passed them? It wasn't much more than a few weeks and they passed us again.

Look through the Distributed Computing area. You'll see that the Knights came in swinging.

They passed us, we passed them, then, they passed again.

By the way, we're at # 23 now!

I wonder when will mc68k put its labs all for our team again! :) We will need that output to pass the Knights. But its great to see that our team is still climbing!

I've got the PC lab now. mc68k is using the eMacs for the RC5 project.
 
i checkout out the RC5 sight but am a little confused by what it is...

what is it?

ive got the library macs, the 2 CUSA stores, frys, and two apple stores pending on further adventures

...and of course my own lab

It's basically a distributed project to hack security. They are generating keys to break the encryption. It may benefit everyone by leading to stronger security in the long run, but I think it's objective is dubious at best.

it's a contest like any other distributed computing project where you show off how many computers you can control

macs happen to kick some serious ass at this project

you can win $1000 for yourself and your team

the objective of projects is kind of secondary to me...i love the stats and teamwork
 
To re-cap:
Folding -- Curing Diseases
Plus: Um... curing diseases, and um support MR.
Minus: Could be faster on the Mac Still...

RC5 -- Encryption Breaking
Plus: Macs destroy every other processor.
Money if you break the encrypyion... and for your team
Minus: Doesn't Suport MR... (personal view: It doesn't do much really... I mean it says 'we can break the encrpytion'... but it takes a frikken loonngg time)

Seti -- Alien Searching
Plus: Also am MR team. Os 9 support
Minus: Our team bites.

Also SETI has been accused of giving out the same unit many times... and the top teams (might) hack the stats.

i could make an argument that folding repeats itself as well

a good recap of the pros and cons :)

-stats only update once a day for rc5 too..thats a con for me

Neet! When I go to best buy, can I instal folding on all the PCs/Macs or do they re-image the machines? Also, should i get the high end athlons on pentiums (I don't wanna get caught doing to many)?

are the machines at best buy hooked up to the net? if they're not, then there's not much point
