Hi,

I currently have an iPad 2 with smart cover. I want to use the iPad 2 more at work in meetings for taking notes, either using a stylus and app like noteability or by typing using Evernote.

At the moment I don't seem to be able to break away from my traditional notepad and pen when going to meetings, therefore i am looking for a folio filofax type case that comes with a notebook and pen holder that I can put my iPad and smart cover in and take this along with me. I will be more likely to turn the iPad on and use it in the meetings if it is with me (along with pen and paper).

I would ideally like to be able to quickly and easily remove the iPad from the folio so when I am at home I don't have to sit with the folio on my lap when using it. Even better if it is compatible to store the iPad + smart cover in the folio.

I have come accross the following:-

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/frappedesign-executive-folio-for-ipad/

This looks perfect but don't know if it's too big. Also read a review that it's quite cheap. Also they don't seem to be available anymore??

The other I keep going back to is the booqPad:-

I prefer the look and style of this one but getting the iPad in and out seems maybe a little too much effort and there is no option to use smart cover or type in landscape.

Are there any others out there that you know will fit my requirements?

I look forward to your feedback.

Thanks

I had a Frappe design (briefly). I liked the concept, but it was too big, and clunky to use. It was actually easier and smaller to carry and use my MBA than my iPad in this case! Wasn't to thrilled with the quality either...

I have an incase Leather portfolio now which I find compact, good quality and well designed. The snap in fitting for the iPad means that I can whip it in and out of the case as I want to and great viewing angles. I put an A5 pad in the left had side for notes.

That incase looks like a good fit for what I am after. Shame the price is sooo high.

Does anyone know if you can get these in the uk???

Would you recommend the suede or leather?

How easy to the iPad clip in and out?

Thanks for pointing this one out.

It was a bit of a Christmas present to myself - so expensive. I got the leather one but suspect the other would be just as good. As a side note, there is no pen loop in the leather version and I really wish there was (wrongly advertised as having one when I bought it - grrr.) so might be a reason to go for the other version. Lovely quality materials though - and not stupidly bulky.

Really easy to clip in and out, and I haven't been able to fault it so far... and I'm extremely picky!

I'm UK based too - had to order it to be shipped. There was one UK seller on eBay when I was looking but I just missed the auction. Worth keeping an eye out.

Nice Xmas present to yourself. Thanks for pointing the bit out about the pen. Do you keep one in there anyway?

Does an a5 notepad fit well?

I did read a review about the suede one saying it gets marked easily so think this was swaying me to the leather but can't decide

Just followed the order process through to get the delivery price. Does $25 sound about right ?

Would you be willing to send me the dimensions?

How long did delivery take?

If you were to purchase again would you go for the suede or leather again?

Do you find you can take it to meeting and use it in the case? I want to be able to type notes and so write notes using stylus, whilst still having notepad and pen for those times you need it...

What would be the main selling points for this case over the booqpad?

Slrry for all the questions.. Thanks for your feedback so far,and an excellent recommendation..

Oh and one more question...

Does it prop up in landscape mode or is it just available in portrait mode?

I saw this case at OfficeMax tonight for @ $35. I, too, have been looking for a folio case with notepad. I almost bought it, but I figured I'd check for reviews and online sites to buy as well. This is the only review I found.

Deep breath....

A5 fits nicely

Leather not marked so far, but am being extraordinarily fussy about it! Novelty will wear off....

Sounds about right I think but don't forget customs charges (I think it was £20 for me)

Can't do dimensions now as stuck in a hotel on business but can do in a couple of days

Delivery was delayed because they forgot to put my order through. I think it was about 2 weeks from the time of processing it eventually and delivery

I would go for leather again but do wish I had a pen loop. There's plenty of room for the pen still, but I like things neat and tidy!

Totally perfect for meetings for typing, stylus and notepad notes

I like the various pockets to tuck papers in, the zip so I can shove things inside to carry from meeting to meeting and in conferences, love the snap in/out attachment so when I'm reading I can take it out of the case which I find easier, pockets hold my VGA adapter and data cable...

Props up only in landscape but brilliant viewing positions and typing position.

Pleasure to provide the info!

Excellent feedback. Thanks for answering my questions. I will let you know what I decide.

I would appreciate the dimensions if you could send them when you are back.
