I'm a newbe to Mac. In the current Mail app my Junk message titles are in a light tan color, which is hard to read compared to black. How do I change that to a darker color?

Your message titles are tan in color because Mail is still in training mode. When you take it out of training mode, a Junk folder will be created in your Mail sidebar. Your junk mail will automatically be moved to this folder.

While in training mode, you may change the color of your junk mail titles by:
  • Select Mail > Preferences.
  • Click the Junk Mail icon.
  • Click the Advanced... button.
  • At the bottom of the Junk Mail dialog box, look at Perform the following actions: The three popup menus here will allow you to customize how Mail displays junk mail.
