Font Issue - Unix Executable file?

I just got a new Mac Pro at work and I am having an issue with importing my fonts from one computer to another.

I am running 10.5.1. I have all the font files on my computer, but they will not install. It is reading them all as Unix Executable Files, while my old computer running 10.4.11 will read them as OTF.

I have tried going through and naming the files .otf on my 10.5.1 computer, but that still does nothing.

Can someone offer some type of suggestion? 😕 Thank you!

Same problem

Many different sets of fonts are not working on my MBP with Tiger and iMac with Leopard... I wish I could figure this out...

You both might have corrupted or outdated font caches. There's a program called Font Finagler that can fix this - unfortunately, it's not free.

 

[Infrared]

"atsutil" can be used at the command line to purge the font caches.
