The kerning is different (I used optical but it's still off) and the font needs to be 13% taller, but the fake Apple Garamond still looks bad because the official font has thinner strokes and the letters have different proportions. I manually moved the letters and thinned them out a bit. Its still a bit off, but close enough.Not legit. The real Apple Garamond was a custom condensed version of ITC Garamond with stroke adjustments and new hinting by Bitstream. It has never been released publicly by Apple. A quick glance at the version on DaFont shows that it is simply a version of ITC Garamond mechanically condensed to 80%. This "squashing" has distorted the strokes and made a mess of the spacing.
